Kisses Fractures

A trundling and frantic feel is given off by this cutting post rock outfit, who build their sound around driving and hurrying , almost Placebo and Sonic Youth style instrumentals, as is borne out in 'Driving With The Deathette' and 'Kisses', with the former number sprinkling in bits of The Pixies to make a tasty broth. The tight and tearing duo of Adamo and De Vine are the core of this outfit and are sometimes joined live by a percussionist to give their live sound that added bite.

This debut album contains passion, intensity, darkness and eccentricity that comes through in Adamo's vocals and the sometimes quirky instrumentals, as De Vines robust and driving bass lines steer the band away from the mainstream into intriguing territory. 'Had A Friend' is a delightful number, whereby Adamo's vocals taken on a distorted feel, fitting in neatly with the howling musical accompaniment to provide a strangely warm highlight on a bold and tenacious offering.
